Manchester City star Aleksandar Kolarov’s future at the club has been cast in doubt ever since the arrival of Pep Guardiola.

According to The Sun, City have been linked with the Wolfsburg left back Ricardo Rodriguez who has been singled out by Guariola as a top priority.

Kolarov also played second fiddle to the Citizens first choice Gael Clichy last season.

However, Manchester Evening News states that the Serbia international hopes to stay on at City as he has ambitions of being a manager in the future.

The report states that Kolarov is excited by the prospect of working under Guardiola who is viewed by many as the best in the business.

The Manchester Evening News also claims  that the Serbia international is on Besiktas’ transfer list.

The Black Eagles president Fikret Orman was asked to comment on the link but he decided to play down the speculation.

“We are aiming to sign a left-back and Kolarov could be one of the candidates, but we are interested in many players,” Orman stated.

“Kolarov is a name which the press have been talking about, but he is someone who has a contract with another club.”

Kolarov provided five assists and scored three goals in 39 appearances in all competitions for Manchester City lasts season.
