Chelsea defender transfer to Besiktas delayed

Chelsea defender Kenneth Omeruo was expected to join Besiktas on a one-year loan however, his move has been delayed.

A source close to the player told Emre Sarigul that Besiktas have agreed to a loan deal however, Chelsea want to include a buyout clause option. The Black Eagles have not yet been able to reach an agreement over a release clause option.

Besiktas have agreed personal terms with Omeruo but the deal hinges on the Istanbul giants striking a deal with Chelsea.

Omeruo will join on a one-year loan and the Eagles would cover his €1.1 million salary over the course of next season if the move goes ahead as planned.

Besiktas will send representatives  to London to hold final talks with Chelsea over pushing through the loan transfer and they will also discuss a move for out-of-favour striker Loic Remy.

Omeruo is no stranger to football in Turkey having played on loan for Istanbul minnows Kasimpasa last season.
