(Video) Aleksandar Kolarov horror own goal gifts Tottenham lead as Man City struggle

Manchester City struggled to cope with Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Sunday, with the hosts taking a 2-0 lead into the half-time interval.

Spurs pressed and harassed the City players throughout the opening 45 minutes, and were handed the lead after this mistake from Aleksandar Kolarov as the Serbian international put the ball into his own net.

Mauricio Pochettino’s men didn’t dip in terms of energy and pressure thereafter either, and although the visitors fought their way back into the game for a period, it was Dele Alli who doubled Tottenham’s lead.

In-form Heung-Min Son was instrumental in the goal, as he slid a pass through to find Alli who kept his composure and made no mistake as he slotted his effort past Claudio Bravo.

Tottenham made a point of pressing high up the pitch and forcing City to go long rather than keep it down and play their usual style of football, and so Pep Guardiola will undoubtedly have plenty to think about heading into the second half to get his men back into the game.
