Atletico Madrid desperate for Chelsea substitute

The injury to Atletico Madrid keeper Jan Oblak has put the Spanish team in panic mode with January around the corner.

A serious injury to their Slovenian giant has meant that Diego Simeone’s team are scrambling for a new goalkeeper to compete with Miguel Angel Moya between the sticks.

Chelsea’s Eduardo is one whose name has now been raised by transfer site TMW. The Croatian was signed this summer to be third choice keeper at the Bridge behind Thibaut Courtois and Asmir Begovic. He hasn’t made an appearance for the Blues, but as he arrived on a free they could still make a profit on the 34 year old if they make Atletico pay them for his services.

With Courtois in fine form and Begovic a capable backup, letting Eduardo go if Diego Simeone’s men do come in with a solid offer will be an easy decision for Antonio Cone and Chelsea’s transfer team.
