It’s no doubt in anyone’s mind just how impressive Man City were last season under Pep Guardiola, with some even calling the Citizens the most entertaining Premier League side of all time due to their consistently brilliant performances.

Despite Man City impressing massively last season, one of the hardest things in football is keeping up a consistently good style of play and getting results at the same time, something the club are going to need to do if they are to be considered as one of the best to ever grace the league.

If Man City are to keep up the relentless style of football they managed last season and go further in competitions like the Champions League, they are definitely going to need to dip into the transfer market this summer.

One thing a few Man City fans were surely disappointed with would be their side’s failures in the Champions League, as Guardiola’s side only managed a quarter final finish, as they went out to Liverpool 5-1 on aggregate.

So, we’ve picked out three stars that, if Man City end up sealing deals for, could see them become champions of Europe next season.

Jorginho – £46.5M

Napoli and Italy star Jorginho has really come into his own these past few seasons, with the central midfielder taking a commanding role in one of European football’s most exciting teams.

The Italian international’s ability to maintain and recycle possession, as well as his ability to press highly with his teammates, is something that would see him fit perfectly and easily into Pep Guardiola’s side.

Sky Sports have reported in the past that City are close to sealing a £46.5M move for the midfielder, a price that is a complete bargain for a player of his quality and ability.

Jorginho would make a fine signing for Manchester City

Riyad Mahrez – £75M

Since emerging onto the scene for Leicester during the club’s insane 2015/16 Premier League title winning season, Mahrez has constantly been one of the most sought-after players in the league.

The Algerian international’s Messi-like close control and absolute wand of a left foot has seen some describe him as one of the best wingers in the league, a fair shout considering just how good the player is.

The Sun have reported in the past that Guardiola and Man City want to bring the player to the Etihad, and that the club could be close to landing a £75M deal for the player.

If Mahrez is to sign for City, it’ll give them another great option out-wide, an would surely make their midfield the best in the league in terms of sheer quality.

Riyad Mahrez would be an absolutely quality addition for Man City this summer

Eden Hazard – £100M

Since joining Chelsea in 2012 from Lille, Hazard has developed into one of the best wingers on the planet, with the Belgian constantly wowing fans with his ability to deliver for the Blues when they need him most.

The wide-man has been influential in the Blues’ 2014/15 and 2016/17 Premier League title-winning campaigns, and is one man who is on the names of everybody’s lips when the discussion for future potential Ballon D’Or winners comes up.

The Daily Star have stated previously that the Premier League champions are keen on Hazard, and that they are eyeing up a £100M swoop for the world class star, a good price for a player as good as Hazard is.

Man City’s squad would be simply unfair if Hazard signed for them, so here’s hoping he stays at Stamford Bridge for the sake of the Citizens’ competitors next season!

Hazard is wanted by Man City and would make a quality addition to Guardiola’s side

Should Man City end up signing these three aforementioned stars, it should provide them with the extra quality and squad depth that they need to go further in the Champions League next season, and with a bit of luck, they could just go all the way and end Real Madrid’s European dominance.
