World Cup playmaker claimed to have signed Chelsea contract following transfer talks

Russian World Cup star Aleksandr Golovin is claimed to have signed his Chelsea contract following reports of transfer talks for him to move to Stamford Bridge.

The CSKA Moscow midfielder has shone as his country have hosted the World Cup this summer, showing his class and creativity from the middle of the park.

There seems little doubt Golovin could be a fine purchase for Chelsea or indeed many other top clubs, and the Telegraph have reported of him holding talks over a £27million move.

Now his old manager Valery Gazzaev has stated his belief that the 22-year-old has already put pen to paper on his contract with CFC, so things may be moving along very well.

Still, we’re yet to hear anything more official than this and are perhaps unlikely to do so until his participation at the World Cup is over.

Russia take on Croatia in their quarter-final tie tomorrow, and have performed well beyond expectations so far, so cannot be written off even against quality opposition.

Golovin and co. beat Spain last time round so could fancy their chances of a shock semi-final appearance at this summer’s tournament.
