Florentino Perez has told Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos that a deal for Chelsea and Belgium star Thibaut Courtois will get over the line in the very near future.
This is according to Diario Gol, who are noting that the Blues have already started to eye up replacements for the shot-stopper as they believe the player is as good as gone.
The report also states that Perez told Ramos that Courtois will arrive in a “matter of hours”, something that will be news to the ears of Los Blancos fans everywhere.
Courtois is set to be a fantastic signing for Los Blancos if Perez’s words are anything to go by.
The Belgian international was absolutely sensational for the Red Devils at the World Cup this summer, with his displays helping his country secure a third-placed finish, their best ever at the competition.
Courtois also managed to pick up the tournament’s ‘Golden Glove’ award, beating the likes of Hugo Lloris and Jordan Pickford to the trophy.
Real were very weak at the back last season, something that is partially down to the inconsistent performances of Keylor Navas.
However, this isn’t something that the club will have to worry should Courtois make the move to the Spanish capital.
Only time will tell if Florentino Perez is telling the truth to Ramos about Courtois’ arrival, something we’re sure their fans will be hoping he isn’t lying about.
