Real Madrid have been made to call off a transfer for Spanish international Rodrigo after a number of Los Blancos stars complained to the club.

This is according to Don Balon, who note that Los Blancos had almost finalised a €50M move for the forward, but had to call off the switch after a number of stars complained to Julen Lopetegui about the deal Rodrigo was getting, thus the Real manager had to cancel the proposed transfer.

This news will be a bitter blow for Real fans, who would’ve loved to see their club bring in some fresh forward talent following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo this summer.

It looks like Rodrigo won’t be sealing a summer switch to Real Madrid after all

Rodrigo signing for Real would’ve been a great move for the club, as the Spaniard proved last season that he can cut it against the very best that La Liga has to offer.

The former Real Madrid youth player managed to score 16 and assist seven in 37 league appearances, helping Los Che secure a fourth-placed finish and the Champions League football that comes with it.

Having lost Ronaldo, Real are looking a bit thin on the goal-scoring front this season, and Rodrigo’s signing would’ve gone some way to helping fix that should his move had not been cancelled.

Only time will tell who Real turn their attentions to now following this news about Rodrigo that we’re sure has disheartened a lot of Los Blancos fans.
