There were shocking scenes in Sturm Graz’s Europa League meeting with AEK Larnaca on Thursday as one of the linesmen was struck by an object thrown from the crowd.
As play continued on the pitch, what looks to be a glass or bottle containing a drink is thrown from the stand behind the linesman and it hits him near the forehead.

After the initial shock of the incident, he’s then seen falling to the ground with players calling for medical staff to get across the pitch with the camera then switching to another angle to show a nasty cut on the official’s head with blood pouring everywhere.
Fortunately, after being bandaged up, it appeared as though he was fine, but Sturm Graz must now take action and find the perpetrator in order to ensure that he or she faces the appropriate consequences.
