Deal close: Chelsea ace set to land loan transfer away, player’s move could become permanent for £31M

Chelsea misfit Tiemoue Bakayoko looks let to leave Chelsea on loan to AC Milan, with a permanent move available to be made for £31m (€35M) as part of the deal, according to Goal.com.

Bakayoko joined Chelsea from Monaco last season for a fee understood to be £40m according to the Evening Standard. The 23-year-was signed as a replacement for Nemanja Matic who swapped Stamford Bridge for Old Trafford last summer.

Following Monaco’s amazing title winning 2016/17 season, where the Frenchman was an integral part of the side who beat favourites Paris Saint Germain to the league title, hopes were high amongst Chelsea fans following his arrival in west London.

Although Bakayoko became a cornerstone of Antonio Conte’s poor season with the Blues – for all the wrong reasons. The Frenchman couldn’t adapt to life in the Premier League and delivered poor performance after poor performance, whilst Nemanja Matic was being lauded for his qualities at Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United.

Now a year on new, Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has deemed Bakayoko as surplus to requirements following the arrivals of midfielders Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic.

Chelsea fans will be happy to see that the situation with Bakayoko is close to being resolved as they look forward to pushing on this season under Sarri.

The report from Goal also notes that a deal for the French international is set to be completed within the next few days, meaning that today could be one of Bakayoko’s last at Stamford Bridge for the time being.
