Antonio Conte believes Argentina star Giovani Lo Celso is a wonderful football player but he might just not be suited for Premier League football.
The 26-year-old had a fantastic campaign in Spain before joining Tottenham on a loan deal which then became permanent, but struggled with injuries and game-time in Premier League under Jose Mourinho.
“I never said he’s not a good player. I said this league is very difficult because it is not enough to have great quality and it’s important to play with great intensity and strength. But now he is playing with regularity and I am very happy for him. The club made the right choice, yes.”
Lo Celso will return to London in two months time from his loan spell but it looks unlikely Antonio Conte will retain his services beyond this season.
