Journalist Dean Jones suggests Eddie Howe will try to sign two strikers this upcoming transfer window for Newcastle.
Reims striker Hugo Ekitike has been strongly linked with Newcastle and Magpies even had an offer accepted for him in January only for player to stay put.Jones told GiveMeSport that Eddie Howe has the backing of the new owners and Frenchman could be one of the two attacker he is planning to bring this summer.
“Ekitike is still going to be a guy that probably comes in and one other. That is the one position where he (Eddie Howe) probably will look to sign an exciting name; he’s happy to do that.” – said Jones.
Howe has been looking for a new kind of striker with pace and who could run behind defenders, not like January signing Chris Wood who likes to play as a target man and head the ball.
Newcastle will surely be looking for more re-inforcements this summer as they aim for European football next season.
