George Caulkin has been impressed by Newcastle recruitment since PIF ownership started but reckons success ‘won’t go on forever’.

The Magpies has hit the jackpot with the signings of Bruno Guimaraes, Sven Botman or Dan Burn. All players have proved to be great signings and have helped the club take a new leap in Premier League standings.

“They’ve had an incredible hit rate in terms of the transfers they brought in so far and that probably can’t go on forever, but you would have faith that Newcastle would use that money, invest it sensibly and get better.

Caulkin thinks Newcastle will struggle to keep their best players until they become a top-four club.

“As I say, I don’t want Bruno to go I love him, but I’m using that as an example, it’s quite possible that until Newcastle are a top-four club, this is the situation that they have to face and all clubs do it now.” – said Caulkin for Pod on the Tyne podcast.
