West Ham star blasted by TalkSport host after Brazil’s elimination in World Cup

Lucas Paqueta has come under fire from Hugh Woozencroft after Brazil’s elimination in quarter-finals of World Cup from Croatia.

The 25-year-old played alongside Casemiro in a deeper-lying midfield position for the entire 90 minutes of play before being replaced by Fred in overtime.

The talkSPORT host felt he spent the majority of the game chasing shadows and was unimpressed with his performance.

“Lucas Paqueta of West Ham United was like a training cone for most of that game, he just didn’t know where to go,” said Woozencroft.

“He’s not a natural holding midfielder and when Brazil didn’t have the ball he just chased shadows. He was left out there for far too long.”
