The world of Premiership transfer gossip is full of nonsense, but some nonsense is more interesting that the other nonsense. Speculation is rife in the likes of the Mirror, Daily Mail, Times, Sun and… err… Tribal Football all do their best to predict and/or completely make up the future.

Here’s our opinion on the Premiership transfer rumours we’ve read in the papers and around the net… and if you have any thoughts, pop em in the comments.

CaughtOffside Says: Another crossroads for Wenger, who has shown little hesitation in the past to sell key, aging, players if a big bid comes in. If Henry’s increasing vulnerability to injuries is more than simply too many games, expect him to be off and replaced by some young scallywag. Oh, and for Wenger’s car to be set on fire.

Arsenal are monitoring Franck Ribery’s situation at Olympique Marseille after the winger admitted he wanted to play in a foreign league.

CaughtOffside Says:Ok, so he’s definitely leaving right? For real this time? And to Arsenal, right? Definitely? Ok, good. To be honest though, we didn’t think he was that outstanding at the World Cup and also don’t think he’s much different to what they already have, players who run with the ball and look to pass first and shoot second.

Chelsea have been told they will have to splash out at least £71.5m if they want to sign Valencia striker David Villa.

CaughtOffside Says:Yeah…that’s not gonna happen.

Liverpool want to sign Carlos Tevez from West Ham this summer so he and Javier Mascherano can sit together on the bus again.

CaughtOffside Says:Tevez is looking good at West Ham finally and Mascherano is starting to find his feet at Anfield. The ultimate insult to the Hammers would be for them to go down, and then see their two Argies become massive successes at another Premiership team – which means it’ll probably happen.

Juventus will approach Arsenal again for holding midfielder Gilberto Silva.

CaughtOffside Says:Juventus want to replace their Brazilian holding midfielder (Emerson) with a Brazilian holding midfielder (Gilberto) who would then be replaced by a Brazilian holding midfielder (Denilson). What’s the opposite of racist?

Sheffield United have won the race to sign Aston Villa’s soon-to-be out-of-contract midfielder Lee Hendrie.

CaughtOffside Says:Was there really a “race”?
