David Moyes Shocked To Discover Everton’s Record Signing Is A Good Footballer

Rumours are rife that Everton’s £11.25 million star flop Yakubu, has actually figured out how to play football. Yes, you are reading this correctly, The Daily Mail is reporting that the player was integral in Everton’s 2-0 win away to Derby County, scoring one and making the other for Arteta. Even Everton manager David Moyes was pretty shocked by this bravura performance. Moyes said: “He’s a better footballer than I thought” , an intriguing statement since Yakubu is the record signing for the Merseysiders. Indeed, Moyes was full of praise for Yakubu, it is almost as if the Nigerian’s might not be a total waste of moolah. Moyes said:

“All we want from Yak is that he scores the goals he did for Portsmouth and Middlesbrough. He delivered an important goal. We needed a second because you are always vulnerable with just one. In the main, when he gets in those positions, he doesn’t miss. His input for the first goal was excellent. You have to take a lot of things into account — awareness of your team-mates and the weight of the pass. It was a great dummy. He’s a better footballer than I thought.”

So is this the beginning of the dawn of Yakubu’s Toffee career, or was it simply a reflection of how trouser fillingly poor Derby County are?
