Liverpool’s Kewell in match-fit shocker!

For those that still miss over-rated winger and victim of numerous rubbish injuries Darren Anderton, the escapades of Harry Kewell in the last few years must be acting like a nicotine patch. So, brace yourselves, Kewell has been playing football. A full 90 minutes. Without pulling up having hurt his index finger. Or even to adjust his stupid pony-tail. Let Sky take up the story.

Winger Harry Kewell has provided Liverpool a timely fitness boost after the Australian played for full 90 minutes in the 1-0 win over Nigeria.

Kewell had played bit-part role for the Reds after his comeback last month from an injury suffered in the pre-season and Reds boss Rafa Benitez had hoped if the 29-year-old can maintain his fitness he could be like a new signing for the Merseysiders.

That’s quite a big if, like IF Ebbsfleet United get to the Premier League My Football Club will show fans know more about football than managers. Rafa is confident though, coming back from the international break, full of beans.

“It could be good timing for us,” he said. “I don’t like to see a lot of players going around the world but this time around it gives our injured players time to recover.

“Agger is running and is much better. Benayoun has started working with the physios but will need time. Xabi is closer but I do not think he will be ready for the next game.”

With all their rubbish performances, it is easy to forget that Liverpool are only three points off the top if they win their game in hand. Does the title run start here?
