Manchester United Boss Likes The Look Of Villa Star

The Express think that Sir Alex Ferguson, not content with having an obscenely good set of strikers (and Louis Saha), wants to add young Aston Villa speed merchant Gabby Agbonlahor to his collection. There are two things we want to point out here; Gabby Agbonlahor is a fiercy loyal local Villa lad, Fergie is a fiercely determined manager with a big transfer wad, so if this story is true one of these two entities will have to budge – a veritable Hatton-Mayweather of a transfer rumour.
The Express reckons that The Lord of the Ferg has ordered weekly reports on Agbonlahor and when he’s ready the Fergster will swoop, waiving £15million in Villa officials’ faces, an unnamed Express journo scrawls:

“Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is on the trail of Aston Villa’s £15million-rated striker Gabriel Agbonlahor.Ferguson has ordered regular reports on the 21-year-old Birmingham-born player, who is on the verge of a full England cap.A regular in Stuart Pearce’s England Under 21 side, Agbonlahor’s pace and goals – he has six in the Premier League this season – have attracted the attention of the champions.”

Surely whether Fergie goes in for a striker in January has a lot to do with the most injured ace in crippledom Louis Saha, and whether he can stay away from the treatment room for more than a few hours.
