Bayern Munich are planning a £50m bid for Tottenham winger Gareth Bale. Incoming boss Pep Guardiola has set his sights on the Welsh winger as one of his top targets. The former Barcelona boss has been handed a £100m transfer budget but will have to beat off competition from Real Madrid in the race for the White Hart Lane star.

Dutch playmaker Wesley Sneijder claims that Man United had made an offer for his services prior to his move to Galatasaray but that the offer was turned down by Inter Milan. This then led to a period of time forced out of the Nerazzurri first team set-up that led inevitably to his move to Istanbul.

Arsene Wenger has revealed that he held an interest in young Real Madrid defender Raphael Varane but failed to land the Frenchman. The teenager has been in fine form this term and put in a solid display in his side’s recent Champions League encounter with Man United.

Chelsea are set to sign South American wonder-kid Cristian Cuevas after a two year chase for the Chilean winger’s signature. The Stamford Bridge side will pay £4.3m to secure a deal to bring in the teenager but will apparently allow the youngster to remain with his current club O’Higgins for the rest of the Torneo Transición season.
