Gary Neville Believes England Strikeforce To Be World Class

Former Manchester United star happy with England attacking options.

Gary Neville believes the current crop of England strikers to be world class according to The Sun.

The England coach and Sky Sports pundit has said he believes that England’s current attacking options are the envy of a number of countries around the world.

There has been criticism of the options England have up-front in recent months, with many believing Wayne Rooney to be the national side’s only top quality option.

Rooney is the only striker currently available to the national team who has a wealth of Champions League experience behind him.

While the likes of Jermain Defoe, Daniel Sturridge and Danny Welbeck are talented players, some believe they are not good enough for the highest level.

But Neville has leapt to the defence of the players insisting that many teams would jump at the chance of having such players available to them.

England are preparing for the two World Cup qualification matches this week against San Marino and Montenegro.

Roy Hodgson will be looking to take all six points as England try to secure their place in next summer’s tournament in Brazil.

Neville is confident that England can come away with a result in both ties. He believes the current squad is capable of winning every game they play.

‘I’ve never gone into a game with England — or Manchester United for that matter — where I’ve not thought that we should win, because that’s the way you’re brought up and the England players are exactly the same,’ said the former England right-back.
