Former Gunners chief expects Arsene Wenger to splash the cash in the coming months.

Former Arsenal supremo David Dein has revealed that he is expecting the club to part with significant sums of cash this summer on bringing in new players according to Sky Sports.

The Gunners are currently facing up to their eighth consecutive season without a trophy and are locked in a battle with Chelsea and Tottenham for a place in the top four.

Should Wenger’s main lose the battle with their London rivals, it will be the first time Arsenal have failed to qualify for the Champions League since Arsene Wenger joined the club.

Dein has now left the Gunners but continues to enjoy a close relationship with the Arsenal boss. Dein believes that Wenger is keen to remedy the shortcomings of this season and will spend big once the transfer window reopens.

Dein stated that he believes Wenger to be one of the best managers in the world and that the Frenchman knows what he is doing. He went on to say that he believes Wenger leaving the Emirates Stadium remains a highly unlikely prospect.

Arsenal are set to have more funds available for new players after finally paying off the loan they took out to build the Emirates Stadium.
