‘Arry wants Lions midfielder at Loftus Road next term.

R’s boss Harry Redknapp has reportedly identified Millwall midfielder as the man to kick start the club’s downsized revolution according to the Mirror.

The former Spurs man is preparing the club for life in the Championship as it now looks increasingly likely that will slip through the trap door following this weekend’s 2-0 defeat to Everton.

Rangers will be forced to offload a number of their highly paid stars should they eventually suffer relegation and a summer rebuild will be a necessity rather than a luxury.

And Redknapp has already targeted Millwall midfielder, Liam Trotter, as the man to head the new look side, though he will face stiff competition to land his signature as a number of Premier League sides are also interested in bringing the 24-year-old up to the top flight.

Fulham, Southampton and Norwich are all keen on the impressive midfielder and will naturally have the upper hand on Rovers as all three look likely to still be in the division next season.

Trotter joined Millwall from Ipswich Town in 2010 after enjoying two separate loan spells with the South London club. He’s since become one of the Lions’ most highly regarded players and a move away looks inevitable after his impressive performances have belied their league position.

He’s made over 100 appearances for Millwall, scoring 19 goals and is valued around £1.8 million.
