22. Frank Lampard
Much like the previous entrant, this could be Lampard’s first and only stand in the CaughtOffside 50 as the 34-year-old is about to embark on his final season with the Stamford Bridge outfit.
Also the only English player to enter the list, he had appeared to be heading for the exit at Christmas as owner Roman Abramovic looked set to let his deal expire after so many years of good service.
However, his leadership, goals and range of passing from the middle was enough to break him back into the line up in west London and earn a further one year extension to his deal.
The club may be on the verge of taking a new direction with youngsters such as Edin Hazard and Oscar, but Lampard’s contribution has been vital and will aide the side in more ways than one as Jose Mourinho looks set to return and implement the changes after six years away.
Still with an unstoppable eye for goal, he broke the club’s goalscoring record set by club legend Bobby Tambling and still broke into double figures for the season on its own.
