11. Juan Mata
The quiet Spaniard has enjoyed a particularly good season this year that has seen him shoot straight into number 11 in the CaughtOffside 50.
For what he lacks in voice, he more than makes up for with his feet as he has overshadowed the rest of the side’s talented midfield in a season that has been somewhat disappointing for the club.
He is a player that can boast the most assists in this list – with 35 in all competitions, and he isn’t shy of scoring a few of his own either, bagging 19 in the process.
His assists have all come at the right times too, with the most important being the pass to Branislav Ivanovic for the winner against Benfica in the Europa League final in May. It was a goal that ensured that Chelsea became just the third team in history to win the Champions League and then go on to lift the Europa/Uefa Cup in successive seasons.
There had been speculation surrounding his future at Stamford Bridge this summer, but Jose Mourinho knows a good player when he sees one and the Spanish international certainly falls into that category.
