Stoke City Tie Kenwyne Jones Down To New Long-Term Deal

Trinidadian could have previously left the club on a free next summer.

Stoke City front man Kenwyne Jones has agreed a new contract with the Potters, according to reports in the Sun.

The lanky Trinidad and Tobago international’s previous deal at the Britannia stadium was due to expire at the end of this season.

However, the Premier League club have been keen to tie Jones down to a new contract as soon as possible in order to fend off interest in the striker from rival Premier League clubs.

And now new Stoke head coach Mark Hughes will be happy to have the 28-year-old on board for the immediate future as the Welshman looks to continue his rebuilding project at the club.
