Welsh speedster is currently suffering from a thigh problem.

New Real Madrid signing Gareth Bale is now set to miss the next three weeks of the season with a thigh injury, according to reports in the Daily Mail.

The Wales international finally completed his dream move from Premier League outfit Tottenham Hotspur to the Spanish giants for a world-record transfer fee of 100 million euros (£86m) on Sept 1, with Bale agreeing a bumper six-year deal worth a staggering 300,000 euros per week.

However, the wide man has barely featured for his new team since completing his protracted transfer to the Santiago Bernabeu, with Bale having so far played in three games in total in all competitions for los Blancos, two of which came in La Liga, including his debut at Villarreal when the flying winger scored.

But after having suffered a thigh strain in the warmup ahead of the Spanish giants’ home league encounter with Getafe last month, Bale has not been seen in a Madrid shirt ever since, and now the club have confirmed that their star man will sit out the next three weeks of the season in order to rest his troublesome injury.

And that is because Madrid president Florentino Perez is said to be determined that Bale has recovered in time to play against arch-rivals Barcelona in the first Clasico of the season at Camp Nou on Oct 26.
