But French holding midfielder is set to return from injury at Old Trafford though.

Check in to Manchester United vs Arsenal

Premier League leaders Arsenal are sweating over the fitness of key midfield player Jack Wilshere ahead of their eagerly anticipated contest with champions Manchester United in the top flight this weekend, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

The England international has been missing from the north London club’s previous two matches against Liverpool at the Emirates in the Premier League last Saturday afternoon, followed by the Uefa Champions League contest with Borussia Dortmund in the Ruhr Valley on Wednesday night, both of which the Gunners won.

However, Arsenal head coach Arsene Wenger is expected to give Wilshere as long as possible to try and recover from his injured ankle and be able to feature against the Red Devils at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

And there was at least some good news for the Frenchman after it was revealed that influential France international Mathieu Flamini is in line to finally make his long-awaited comeback from a hamstring injury picked up in the club’s win over Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park last month.

But the likes of Theo Walcott, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Lukas Podolski and Abou Diaby are all still sidelined though through injury for the trip to the Theatre of Dreams.
