The north London club have been closely monitoring the brilliant Germany international for some time now, with recent reports even suggesting that the Gunners will make their own big-money move for Draxler before the winter window finally slams shut for business once again for the year at the end of the month.

However, this news has now seemingly forced the Bavarians own hand, with Bayern head coach Pep Guardiola said to be a huge fan of the Germans.

And as a result, the Uefa Champions League holders are now getting ready to make their own move for the 20-year-old in January as both European giants prepare to go head to head in the battle to land Draxler.

The player of course is contracted to Schalke until June 30 2018 and with a much-publicised buyout clause in that deal worth a reported £35m, there could now be an expensive fight to see whether the Bundesliga or the Premier League giant wins the race for Draxler.
