The Reds head coach Brendan Rodgers has made the strengthening of the middle of the park at Anfield his number one priority for the current January transfer window, with the Merseysiders have recently been heavily linked with a number of central midfielders from across the Continent.

And now it appears as though the Northern Irishman is set to follow up that interest by making a move for Udinese’s Ghana international at some point this month before the window closes.

Agyemang-Badu has been with the Serie A outfit for the past three years now, during which time the 23-year-old has developed a growing reputation in Italy as being one of the best players in his position in Serie A.

And in the past five campaigns to date, Agyemang-Badu has managed to feature in a total of 79 matches in all competitions, finding the back of the net on one occasion in the process, which arrived in one of his 60 league outings for the club.

However, with a contract with Udinese that currently runs until June 2016, Rodgers and Liverpool know though that Agyemang-Badu will not be cheap to buy.
