A whole host of clubs are said to be desperate to land the Frenchman.

Big-spending Championship outfit Queens Park Rangers look to have stolen a march on Premier League leaders Arsenal in the race to sign in-demand Auxerre front man Paul-Georges Ntep after opening talks with the Ligue 2 side about landing the Frenchman in the January transfer window, according to reports in the Daily Mail.

Rumours were rife over the weekend that the in-form France Under-21 international was on the verge of joining the north London club after Ntep posted a picture of himself travelling to London on the Eurostar on Instagram.

Both the Gunners and Serie A giants AS Roma were heavily linked with the 21-year-old last summer, however, it now appears as though QPR have moved ahead of both those two sides in the race to capture Ntep before the winter transfer window slams shut once and for all for the season again at the end of the month by opening talks with his club about signing the attacker.

And the west London club are said to be very confident of beating Arsenal and Roma, as well as Rennes, to Ntep’s signature in January with Harry Redknapp’s side able to offer the marksman a bumper contact to move to Loftus Road.
