The highly rated Germany international has barely played for Dortmund at all so far in this campaign after suffering a long-term back injury at the start of the season, meaning that Gundogan has featured in only three matches in total in all competitions for his club to date, with just one of those actually coming in the Bundesliga.

However, with the 23-year-old now back on the road to full fitness once again, and with the player’s contract in the Ruhr Valley also only running until June 2015, questions about Gundogan’s Dortmund future have begun to be heard.

“I have not made a final decision yet. BVB are the first team I am talking to,” confirmed Gundogan.

“I will soon make a well-thought decision. But I am keeping my options open at this point.

“Borussia Dortmund have not set me an ultimatum. I am just trying to get healthy again and get back to my best form. That’s the main priority for BVB and for myself.”
