Youngster is only contracted to the Midlands outfit until June.

Mega-rich Premier League outfit Manchester City are eyeing up a possible move for Birmingham City starlet Reece Brown at the end of the current campaign, according to reports in the Daily Mirror.

The north-west giants are understood to be keen to add more strength in depth to their academy, so much so that Elite Development manager Patrick Vieira has been busy of late scouring the country for all the best available young talent that is out there.

And one of the names said to be on City’s wish list is that of Birmingham’s former England Under-17 international Brown after the 17-year-old broke into the Blues first team earlier this campaign.

In total, Brown has made six appearances for the Championship outfit this season, four of which have come in the league and two in the FA Cup, and with City already having developed a close working relationship with Birmingham after sending both Albert Rusnak and Emyr Huws on six-month loan deals to the Midlands club in January, they hope that may now help them seal a deal for Brown this summer.

And if that were to happen, then the midfielder would then join the likes of Nigerian youngsters Musa Yahaya, Kelechi Iheanacho and Chidi Nwakali who are all also set to move to Eastlands at the end of the season.
