The highly rated Netherlands Under-21 international has already attracted the attentions of the likes of Premier League champions Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea of late after turning in a string of eye-catching displays for the Eredivisie champions.

And now it is understood that Tottenham have also joined the long queue of Premier League giants said to be interested in the 20-year-old dubbed the new Dennis Bergkamp back in his homeland.

Klaassen is just  another in a long line of wonderkids to have been produced by Ajax’s famed youth academy, with the attacking midfielder having made his debut in the Dutch capital back in the 2011-12 campaign.

And in the intervening period at the Amsterdam ArenA, the youngster has managed to find the back of the net on eight occasions in total in his 25 matches in all competitions, all of which have come in the Eredivisie.

However, with a contract with the Eredivisie champions that runs until June 2016, Spurs and their Premier League rivals know it wont be easy luring the Dutchman to England this summer though.
