The brilliant young Belgium international has been with the west London club now since first arriving at the Blues from Genk in July 2011 on a five-year deal.

However, in the intervening three-year period, the 21-year-old has still to even make a single appearance for Chelsea, with the club instead preferring to loan the keeper out to La Liga side Atletico de Madrid instead.

But with the Belgium’s season-long loan spell at the Vincente Calderon set to come to an end this summer, and with his own contract at the Bridge running out in June 2016, Courtois’s father and agent Thierry has now confirmed that he is due for talks about his son’s future with Chelsea in March.

“We have a meeting with Chelsea and we will be talking about everything with them,” said Thierry.

“It is too early to make a definite decision yet. We have to negotiate with Chelsea.

“Thibaut has been doing very well with Atletico but there are still three months of the season to go, and a lot can happen in that time.”
