The 29 year old German international hasn’t started a single Premier League match this term and may well be keen on a fresh challenge with a move to the San Siro surely proving tempting.

The two sides have apparently agreed an initial loan deal which will run until the end of the current campaign with the option of a permanent switch to follow.

The arrivals of Alexis Sanchez and Danny Welbeck appear to have been the final death knell for Podolski’s Gunners career, with the World Cup winner only proving a moderate success since his £11m move to the Emirates Stadium in July 2012.

Podolski has racked up 31 goals in 82 appearances for the north London side, with 27 of those coming from the bench.

Newly installed Inter boss Roberto Mancini will look to the former Koln and Bayern Munich man to help his side’s push to climb the Serie A table after a poor start to the current campaign.
