The Argentine moved to Upton Park in the summer and started the season well but has been left warming the bench of late and looks likely to make the move from east to west London on a loan deal.

Zarate has accused Hammers boss Sam Allardyce of refusing to select him more often because he was signed by the club’s board and believes that the West Ham manager has shown him a lack of respect.

Allardyce has confirmed the 27 year old has had a medical with relegation strugglers QPR and that a deal is on the cards.

Redknapp will hope that the former Lazio man can help shoulder QPR’s goal-scoring burden which is currently predominantly carried by striker Charlie Austin.

Zarate has netted twice in five Premier League starts this season.
