The 24 year old Russian international has spent the past two seasons out on loan to Sevilla and Villarreal respectively and doesn’t appear to have much of a future at the Bernabeu.

Denis Cheryshev has sought guarantees from his employers and whilst he would be happy to spend another season on loan at Villarreal he is open to ‘irresistible’ offers from elsewhere.

This source claims such a move could cost Liverpool as much as £22m, which seems steep given the player has made just one solitary appearance for Real Madrid.

The winger did impress last term, finishing the campaign as one of La Liga’s leading assist makers, and Brendan Rodgers may well see Cheryshev as a sensible option to pursue, though one imagines Real Madrid’s asking price would have to be reduced.

Rodgers has already secured the signings of James Milner and Danny Ings this summer.
