Man United team news: Mourinho gives Mkhitaryan update

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho said he would not be revealing any team news going into the Europa League clash against Fenerbahce but he has already given updates on two of his players.

Mourinho revealed yesterday that Luke Shaw would be starting against the Yellow Canaries after recovering from injury. Shaw also gave a pre-match press conference yesterday and was the only player the Portuguese manager brought along.

The Portuguese manager stated today that Henrikh Mkhitaryan has returned to training and underlined that he is fit.

Mourinho did not however, reveal whether Mkhitaryan will feature against the Istanbul giants.

“He was injured and he was injured for quite a long time. Now, he’s not injured anymore,” Mourinho was quoted as saying on the official club website.

“He’s training with the team without any limitation. I cannot confirm if he’s [ready] for tomorrow or not, but he’s fit and it’s now time for him to go back to the levels we know that he can achieve.”

Mhkitaryan has struggled for playing time since joining the Red Devils over the summer due to injury and will make his sixth appearance if he does feature against Fenerbahce at Old Trafford.

United are currently joint second in Group A on three points alongside Feyenoord. Fenerbahce meanwhile are first with four points after their first two games.
