Ribery to snub Arsenal and United?

According to the Guardian, French winger and frankly terrifying Franck Ribery will decide his future in the next few days. We gave the young man some attention for his performances for the France under 21 squad back in November before he somehow became no. 1 on every supporter’s wishlist thanks to YouTube.

While Liverpool and Tottenham are reported to be interested apparently Manchester United have had a official 9m pound bid rejected, with Marseille thinking more along the lines of a Chelsea-baiting 25m. Now Arsenal have tried to nick in at the last minute and steal him away, unsurprising given Thierry Henry’s public and presumably private tapping up of the player as France prepare for the World Cup. However, while both clubs would benefit immensely it is Ligue 1 dominators Lyon who feel they are in the driving seat,

“Ribéry told me a few days ago, as did his agent, that he intended to leave Marseille and come to Lyon since his favourite manager [Jean Fernandez] had gone to Auxerre,” said Lyon’s chairman Jean-Michel Aulas. “The ball is in Marseille’s court. There is a 50% chance that he [will become] a Lyon player.”

Here’s hoping he graces the Premiership next season, extremely talented crazy nutters are always welcome.
