This may have done the intial rounds on the message boards already, but is well worth a second read even if you’ve seen it already.
Basically, John Boileu – aka some random bloke – decided to apply for the then-vacant Middlesbrough managerial post and actually submitted a detailed letter and CV to the club explaining his numerous achievements playing Football Manager and managing a local children’s side (with photo of smiling children included).
The application itself makes a top read, though admittedly mainly for those who also enjoy the GCSE and relationship debilitating FM games.
That icing on the cake, however, is that John actually received a formal reply from Middlesbrough FC in which Steve Gibson demonstrates that is the greatest living club chairman.
