The Three ‘Marquee’ Signings that Could Help Chelsea Re-Capture Premier & Champions League Glory

Speculation is rife that Jose Mourinho may be set to return to Stamford Bridge and that would be the biggest ‘Marquee’ signing Chelsea could pull off this summer.

The 50 year old Portuguese manager is a huge hero with the Blues faithful and Abramovich may well feel that such a move would help appease a fan-base that was not at all happy about the manner in which he treated favourite Di Matteo and then compounded this perceived error by bringing in much derided Spaniard Rafa Benitez.

The appointment of Mourinho as the new permanent boss would erase those mistakes and would help to push Chelsea back into the right direction.

There is every chance that the ‘Special One’ will leave the Bernabeu this summer, any lingering chances of a stay at the La Liga side will perhaps be extinguished the moment they are knocked out of the Champions League, which after the club’s 4-1 first leg to defeat against Borussia Dortmund is perhaps only a matter of hours away.

Jose Mourinho would inherit the nucleus of a quality side, one that has a good mix of youth and experience and with a big transfer budget behind him the former Chelsea boss could set the club on the road to a new era of domestic, and continental, dominance.
