After his sides’ victory in the Malaysian Super League, the Lions XII Coach feels the team are one step closer to victory in the Malaysian Cup.

The Lions will face Kedah FA in the opening round of the Malaysian Cup

Speaking to Goal Malaysia Coach V Sundrammoorthy, feels that after securing the Malaysian Super League title, it will be easier for his side to concentrate on cup success.

“There’s less pressure because we won the league; by winning the league, the boys are more relaxed and when you are relaxed, you work hard and I think there’s a chance of us doing well.

It’s always tough, the Malaysia Cup [because] it’s a traditional tournament and I believe the Malaysian teams will really gear up to perform against us.

“We must be at our best and play at our best to get something out of the tournament.”

After tomorrows match, the Lions have five other group stage games, culminating with a trip to Malaysia to face Kedah on September 21st.

Having not lost a match at the Jalan Basar at all last campaign, Lions are favourites to take the scalp of Kedah in the Malaysia Cup opener.
