German international linked with surprise Old Trafford switch.
A surprise report in Fichajes suggests that Bayern Munich youngster Mario Gotze is closing in on a deal to sign for Man United.
The young German international only moved to the Allianz Arena last July and though by no means an ever present in Pep Guardiola’s starting eleven the 21 year old has played a key role in Bayern Munich’s triumphant Bundesliga title success as well as helping the Bavarian club the semi-finals of the Champions League.

The former Borussia Dortmund man had been strongly linked with a move to Man United last summer but Bayern Munich won the race to sign Gotze in a €37m (£30m) deal.
Man United could well do with some fresh midfield options with the likes of Tom Cleverley, loaned out Brazilian Anderson, Darren Fletcher and Shinji Kagawa all playing for their futures.
Gotze has made 38 appearances in all competitions this season, though 13 of those have come from the bench, and has racked up 13 goals and 11 assists thus far.
