Man United boss Louis van Gaal has set Ed Woodward quite a task this summer by insisting that the chief executive makes move to sign three German internationals during the World Cup finals according to the Daily Mail.

The Old Trafford side are closing in on a deal to bring in Southampton teen Luke Shaw, a move that has been on the cards for some weeks, but van Gaal has further captures in mind and will hope Woodward acts decisively to bring in a trio of talents who will be playing a prominent role in Joachim Low’s 2014 World Cup finals set-up.
Moves to sign the three players are expected to cost upwards of £100m.
Having lost the services of veteran centre-backs Rio Ferdinand and Nemanja Vidic Louis van Gaal wants to sign Borussia Dortmund mainstay Mats Hummels.
The 25 year old has seen his Westfalenstadion side fall behind domestic rivals Bayern Munich and may feel the time is right for a new challenge.
Hummels won back to back Bundesliga titles in 2010/11 and 2011/12 in the heyday of Jurgen Klopp’s reign but Dortmund have since sold a succession of their top talents and the departure of top goal-scorer Robert Lewandowski to the Allianz Arena could perhaps be the final straw.
