Done Deals: 20 Premier League Transfers That Could Be Completed Before the Summer Window Slams Shut

Twenty deals that we feel have a decent chance of being completed before the transfer window closes on September 1st.

Mehdi Benatia – AS Roma to Man United

The rock solid French born Moroccan had a standout season at AS Roma last term but is apparently set to leave the Italian capital for Old Trafford where he could prove to be the ideal man to fill the void left by Nemanja Vidic’s departure. The 27 year old would apparently cost Louis van Gaal £24m, which seems a fair fee in today’s inflated transfer market.

Sami Khedira – Real Madrid to Arsenal

There’s no smoke without fire. This rumour has been doing the rounds for weeks now and with the German international now in the final year of his contract one imagines Real Madrid are keen to cash-in on the former Stuttgart man. Arsene Wenger needs a tough tackler in the centre of the park and the fact that Khedira’s best friend in football is none other than Gunners star Mesut Ozil make such a move all the more likely.

Petr Cech – Chelsea to PSG

Belgian youngster Thibaut has deserved his chance to impress in the Chelsea starting eleven and his move to become Jose Mourinho’s starting keeper means Czech Republic custodian Petr Cesc is very likely to leave. The 32 year old has given ten seasons sterling service to the west London side and is too good to warm the Stamford Bridge bench, expect a PSG switch before the summer is out.

Marcos Rojo – Sporting Lisbon to Man United

The Argentine wants the move, the third party who own 75% of his contract also want the 24 year old to move to Old Trafford and soon Sporting Lisbon will realise there is little point in standing in the way of such a transfer. Expect the adaptable defender to be lining up in Louis van Gaal’s starting eleven soon enough.

Javier Hernandez – Man United to Juventus

Some sources claim this move is as good as done and after Chicharito’s average display during Man United’s opening day defeat to Swansea City the move to Turin seems all the more likely. The 26 year old has netted 59 goals for the Old Trafford side but is now pretty much a bit-part player and his likely move to Juventus may well pave the way for Arturo Vidal to move in the opposite direction.

Kostas Manolas – Olympiakos to Arsenal

The 23 year old Greek international is set for an Emirates Stadium medical and the £8m move for the Greek international has become a necessity since Thomas Vermaelen moved to Barcelona. The Olympiakos defender will prove a very able back-up option to help offer Arsene Wenger strength in depth at the back.

Wilfried Bony – Swansea City to Liverpool

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has publicly stated his intention to sign another striker before the summer is out and his interest in Swansea City’s Wilfried Bony is well known and even though Garry Monk’s side secured an opening day victory at Old Trafford the Ivory Coast ace, who netted 25 goals in his debut season at the Liberty Stadium, is still hoping to secure a move to Anfield.

Andros Townsend – Tottenham to QPR

The White Hart Lane wide-man had an up and down time of it last term and Mauricio Pochettino may well be ready to allow the England man to leave the club as he seeks to trim his squad and free up cash to use to bring in new additions. Harry Redknapp is known to be a fan of the 23 year old and will look to persuade chairman Tony Fernandes to finance a big money offer for Townsend this summer.

Adrien Rabiot – PSG to Arsenal

French, young, and available on the cheap. All signs point to the 19 year old being an Arsene Wenger target and some sources claim that Arsenal have already agreed a £5.5m deal to bring in the French Under 21 international. Rabiot is a player with obvious potential and has all the attributes one would associate with a Gunners capture and it’s a deal we believe is very likely to be completed this month.

Daley Blind – Ajax to Man United

Adaptable defender is said to be very high up on Louis van Gaal’s wish-list which is perhaps unsurprisingly given that a) the Man United manager knows the player well from his time in charge of the Dutch national team and b) that the Old Trafford side need defensively minded reinforcements fairly urgently. Having won four successive Eredivisie titles the 24 year old may feel the time is right for a fresh challenge.

Connor Wickham – Sunderland to West Ham

West Ham have failed with one bid for the 21 year old Black Cats star but having drawn a blank in this opening Premier League fixture against Tottenham, and with Andy Carroll out for four months with injury, we can well imagine that the Upton Park side will make a fresh offer. Connor Wickham has turned down the offer of a new contract from Sunderland and as such an exit seems likely.

Arturo Vidal – Juventus to Man United

This long running transfer saga is due to come to an end and we feel that the 27 year old is inching closer to a Man United move, with some suggesting that the Chilean has already agreed terms on a lucrative Man United contract, said to be worth in the region of £180k a week, and Louis van Gaal will press chief executive Ed Woodward to get the deal done after his side’s poor showing against Swansea City.

Morgan Schneiderlin – Southampton to Tottenham

The French battler wants to leave Southampton, the problem is that the south-coast side have already offloaded a host of their top talents. The 24 year old has given the St Mary’s side six years sterling service and we believe that if former boss Mauricio Pochettino, who is known to court the player, puts in a good offer then the Saints will be forced to accept to prevent the possibility of being stuck with an unhappy player.

Marouane Fellaini – Man United to Napoli

Louis van Gaal doesn’t want to be left with the Belgian come the end of the transfer window and Rafa Benitez is said to be very keen on bringing in the Man United midfield powerhouse this summer. The move may initially only be a loan deal but it’s one that the Old Trafford side are desperate to see completed. Former boss David Moyes paid £27.5m for the 26 year old but any sale will certainly be for a fee far below the amount they paid.

James McCarthy – Everton to Man United

The Republic of Ireland international has a standout debut campaign at Goodison Park and by all accounts the battling midfielder’s team-mates are concerned that McCarthy may soon be on his way to Man United. The 23 year old would certainly offer Louis van Gaal a strong capable presence in the middle of the park though one imagines the Old Trafford side would have to spend a fairly big sum to land the former Wigan Athletic man.

Wilfried Zaha – Man United to Newcastle United

21 year old winger was handed just two sub appearances by David Moyes last term and appears to be surplus to requirements at Man United. A number of sides are said to be keen on the former Crystal Palace man but we can see Newcastle United signing the England man, with the Old Trafford side willing to accept a fee of as low as £7m for the talented youngster.

Angel di Maria – Real Madrid to Man United

Louis van Gaal is desperate to improve his wide-attacking options and has made previous bids for Argentine international Angel di Maria but an increased offer is sure to be considered by Real Madrid as they seek to adhere to UEFA’s FFP (Financial Fair Play) guidelines having spent over £100m on the likes of James Rodriguez, Toni Kroos and Keylor Navas. The 26 year old Bernabeu star could act as the ‘Marquee’ signing Man United need to bring in to help extinguish the memory of last term’s disastrous seventh place finish.

Esteban Cambiasso – Free Agent to Leicester City

Leicester City are a side with the funds to offer the Argentine veteran a very competitive salary and we believe that the free agent will be tempted by the chance to try his hand in the Premier League. The Foxes have publicly stated their interest in the former Inter Milan man and if no other sides of note make an offer then the 33 year old could well find himself at the King Power Stadium.

Raphael Varane – Real Madrid to Chelsea

Jose Mourinho is known to be chasing the young French international and may see his former Real Madrid charge as a potential long term replacement for John Terry. Varane is seemingly not a first team regular under Carlo Ancelotti and we can well see the Stamford Bridge boss looking to bring in the 21 year old this summer.

Mattia Destro – AS Roma to Tottenham

Tottenham could well do with some striking reinforcements and by all accounts White Hart Lane boss Mauricio Pochettino likes the look of AS Roma ace Mattia Destro. The 23 year old is by no means a first choice at the Stadio Olimpico so could be tempted by a move to the Premier League. The Italian international started only 14 Serie A fixtures last season but still finished as the club’s top scorer with 13 goals.
