There’s no doubt that Ronaldo will be a tough act to follow, though recent reports suggest that the Spanish giants are targeting a big-money move for Chelsea’s world class winger Eden Hazard to come in in his place, and the Belgian international may be the best equipped player at the moment to become the next Ronaldo at the Bernabeu.

At 23 years of age, Hazard still has his best years ahead of him, but has long been regarded as one of the most promising talents in the world, and his displays since moving from Lille to Chelsea would back that up, as he has quickly become regarded as one of the best players in the Premier League.

Below is a look at how Real could look like next season with Hazard and another new signing from Chelsea, with Carlo Ancelotti also likely to be on the lookout for reinforcements in midfield…

Goalkeeper and defence:

No change in defence, unless players leave or new targets come on to the club’s agenda. In goal, however, Keylor Navas will surely become the undisputed number one for Real next season as Iker Casillas looks increasingly likely to leave the club at the end of his contract. There has been speculation that Petr Cech could be a target for the Champions League winners, though Chelsea will surely not allow three of their big names to leave all at once.

Chelsea news

Midfield:

With Xabi Alonso joining Bayern Munich this summer and Sami Khedira possibly set to follow when his contract expires next summer, it is no surprise to see rumours of Real Madrid’s interest in Chelsea’s Ramires resurfacing. The tough-tackling Brazilian international has been a key performer for the Blues since he joined the club from Benfica, and remains a favourite of his old manager Carlo Ancelotti. With Khedira available for free and thought to be one of Jose Mourinho’s targets, it could then make financial sense for the club to sell Ramires for the right price and bring in his replacement at no cost.

Attack:

In a mouth-watering attacking lineup, Eden Hazard will presumably take Cristiano Ronaldo’s role on the left flank, and cut in onto his right foot to good effect as he does for Chelsea. Playing alongside superb attackers in Gareth Bale, James Rodriguez and Karim Benzema, the Belgian flyer should only improve as a player at the Bernabeu, and the way he’s going at the moment, he could start to match the incredible goalscoring feats of the Portuguese forward.
