Liverpool Legend Urges Club To Sign Arsenal Transfer Target Marco Reus

Carragher thinks the Dortmund star should be a priority signing.

Former Liverpool defender and current Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher has urged the Reds to make a move for Borussia Dortmund forward Marco Reus.

The Germany international is tipped to leave the Signal Iduna Park after rejecting a new contract with the Bundesliga giants and several Premier League clubs are on alert.

As the Daily Star reports Arsenal and Manchester United are ready to compete with the Merseyside outfit for Reus’ signature and Carragher clearly doesn’t want his former side to miss out.

The 25-year-old will be available for a cut price fee next summer as a clause in his contract sees his buyout fee drop to just £20m.

As a result Dortmund may look to sell Reus in the January transfer window for a slightly higher price to avoid losing one of their best players for such a minimal fee – compared to how much others of similar quality to the German have been sold for in recent times.

Whether Carragher’s words make an impact on Brendan Rodgers or not is another matter, with the Northern Irishman having sanctioned over £100m on new players at Anfield this summer already.
