The excellent fanatix has released its list of the top 50 players in the world, and although we reckon they’ve got the top three spot on – there are a few strange decisions that stuck out for us!

Should Manuel Neuer not be higher higher than 49th? And should the ageing Steven Gerrard really be in the top 50…?

While Diego Costa has started the season well – we’re similarly not sure he’s the 6th best player in the world just yet, while Robin van Persie has done equally well to be rated so highly…
