With the club veering towards a crisis, Liverpool fans will be appreciative of every piece of good news coming their way. Jordan Henderson, a player whose improvement over the last two seasons has been instrumental in his team’s rise to prominence, has just given the club a boost by assuring fans that he will sign a new deal soon.

“I am just concentrating on playing football. I am not worried about that,” said the England midfielder.

“I am enjoying my football, I love this club and I want to be here for many years so that shouldn’t be an issue. I’ll let my agent sort that out, it’s nothing to do with me.”

Daniel Sturridge signed a new deal last week, bringing his wages up to a reported £150,000 per week,  and Henderson’s agent will certainly be aiming for a six figure sum for his client. Philippe Coutinho and Raheem Sterling are said to be next in line for new deals as the Anfield club look to tie down the core of their team.
