The 27-year-old moved to the Nou Camp from Liverpool in a £70 million deal during the summer but has yet to play in a competitive fixture for his new club because he is still serving a four month ban for biting Giorgio Chiellini in a World Cup match between Uruguay and Italy.
That ban expires on October 25th, meaning he can play in the match against Real on the same day and Alves has revealed that his new team mate is raring to take on Barcelona’s bitter rivals.
“There are a lot of expectations,” he told TV3.
“He is a pest and I am sure he is ready. He’s working like nobody else and he is really eager to get back to playing.”
Alves also discussed the recent rumours surrounding his future at the Nou Camp, with reports suggesting that he could move to the Premier League when his contract expires at the end of the season.
“There are just a few months left on my contract,” he explained.
“If things work out negatively, that’s life. We are in good form, in a good play and with good people to return.”
The Spanish giants take on Eibar and Ajax before they play Los Blancos at the Santiago Bernabeu on October 25th.
